cassidy demarco also known as gouseion perfectly blends stomping distorted drums and chunky synths with a melancholic 8-bit electronica vibe, leaving us with 'puisne', one of the most interesting albums i have heard in a while, recently released on run riot records. an absolute must-have are the three gouseion mixtapes where he mixes r&b divas and thugged out vocals with his trademark sound. asked for influences, he named mega man sound designers yuukichan's papa, matt rowe, yasutaka nakata, com.a, oku hanako, the matrix, hello! project, ove-naxx and dat politics (yeah, finally a band that i have already heard of).
in order to get all of you excited as well: most of the time, gouseion made me think of modeselektor on crack. check out his latest remix, an exclusive first on discodust:
gouseion - with love remix
also make sure to check this out:
gouseion - u & me remix
and as mentioned before, you must not miss his mixtapes:
gouseion - mixtape volume i
gouseion - mixtape volume ii

ocelot is a production team from texas, usa and leeds, uk that has been making quite some noise around the blogs in the last months. they have got two singles coming up on iheartcomix records (also check out the awesome treasure fingers remix of 'this is our time' on their myspace) as well as new remixes for major league players dragonette and razorlight.
up now on discodust is one of their most recent remixes for london rockers switches and ocelot managed to turn 'every second counts' into one of the most effective bangers i have heard in a long time, can't wait to enjoy this played out real loud:
switches - every second counts (ocelot remix)
if you have missed them before, make sure to check these other ocelot tracks out as well:
ocelot - lo sforzo on iheartcomix
matt & kim - yea yeah (ocelot remix) on iheartcomix
mr. hudson & the library - ask the dj (ocelot remix) on iheartcomix
keep looking out for updates on discodust and our friends over at iheartcomix, so you can grab the single release when it drops.

25 years old russ chimes from london was brought up listening to a lot of prince and eighties pop and funk music and was never able to forget the countless hours spent with out run in front of his sega master system, so no wonder he ended up making house tunes with an eighties funk base and really catchy and playful melodies on top.
russ chimes has only been into producing for a year, used to play live guitar on stage for an unnamed mainstream house label and currently wants to get his tracks out there and get signed! discodust is taking care of getting the tracks out there and one of you labels has to do the rest.
here are his three most recent tracks, i love them all, considering the comments on russ chimes' myspace moustache and miami horror also love them and so will you if you are into either eighties, disco, french house or video games - and if you are not, you are probably wrong around here.
russ chimes - afterburner
russ chimes - mulsanne
russ chimes - she's got the heat
russ chimes has a lot more to come and who knows, if we are lucky enough he might be featured in the next edition of out run or vice city.

recently i got ahold of the moustache remix of the upcoming single 'magic' by australian pop enchantress melinda jackson and ever since i can't get it (and her!) out of my head. besides their myspace claiming they are from somewhere in new south wales in australia, there is not much info available on moustache, although the uplifting yet razor sharp chords and french house style basslines in this track make me believe they could be the bearded boyfriends of the van she tech girls. read more about the world-famous van she tech girls on stereogum and especially bigstereo and stay tuned for further investigation regarding the awesome moustache.
this song has been on heavy rotation here for days, i am making sure to take 'magic' with me wherever i go and so should you. watch out for the release coming up on ispy records and download the (rather) official discodust summer holiday anthem right here:

cfcf is mike silver from montreal, canada. ever since i have heard his official remix contest winning version of 'air war' by crystal castles (check their latest release over at bigstereo), i have been trying to get ahold of some of his original tracks and here we finally go. influenced by daft punk, alan braxe, fleetwood mac, todd rundgren and the nintendo entertainment system, cfcf gives you analog vintage synth video game soundtrack music with a french house twist!
as this might be hard to imagine, listen to the tracks already. while 'sogni rossi' is a bit of a dark disco tune that could as well have been on the recently issued after dark compilation on italians do it better records, 'claudio' is a tribute to horror soundtrack legend claudio simonetti of goblin and 'the explorers' is just the best lighthearted song ever!
cfcf - sogni rossi
cfcf - claudio
cfcf - the explorers
be on the lookout for his upcoming remixes for apache beat and the noise band health (more on them on the fabulous bibabidi) and many more original tunes.

after discodust gave you his midnight juggernauts remix only a few weeks ago, miami horror got so much love that i am sure everyone is desperate to hear his latest effort as well. here is another excellent rework by the man himself, this time he remixed the electro-funkateers codebreaker who are lined up to play with chromeo and flosstradamus later this month. but even then miami horror succeeds and adds some extra inches of funk - daft punk is still rollin' with prince.
codebreaker - exiled (miami horror remix v2)

discodust favorites the bloody beetroots are back with two brandnew remixes for captain phoenix and the toxic avenger. following their proven formula, they deconstruct the original songs with zero tolerance and turn them into violent uptempo killertracks that destroy everything that moves. as both bob and tea seem to be nothing but busy recently, there should be a lot more coming up soon. especially the 'pistols & hearts' remix has been on heavy rotation lately in the discodust headquarters.
captain phoenix - pistols & hearts (bloody beetroots remix, removed)
zshare backup link (removed)
the 'escape' remix will be on the toxic avenger twelve-inch released on iheartcomix in late august. watch out and get yourself a copy!
the toxic avenger - escape (bloody beetroots remix)
bonus: the bloody beetroots - she's a maniac
