ghosthustler.

ghosthustler are a texas-based band consisting of three kids in their early twenties and they are writing some of the most impressive tunes i've heard in a long time. retro synthesizers and great vocals are teaming up for lovely melodies and catchy hooks that you won't get out of your mind and will make you want to hear it all over again.

after i slept on them for so long - damn, even pitchfork was faster to discover the (quote) 'unsigned myspace sensations' - one fine day ghosthustler singer alan hit me up and asked me if i would be interested in premiering their latest track and after listening to it for a minute i immediately thought 'hell yeah'. so here is "someone else's ride" and a demo version of 'only me to trust', get them right now:

ghosthustler - someone else's ride
ghosthustler - only me to trust (demo version)

both these tracks will be available on an upcoming twelve-inch single that you can get from turntable lab as soon as it drops, i will try and keep you posted! also, ghosthustler are playing at gorilla vs. booze held by tastemakers gorilla vs. bear (love you!) and sxsw in the near future, so if you've got a chance to see them, go do it - i wish i could!

I was listening to this on their myspace on tuesday wondering when it would hit the blogs. Another stellar tune from the texan boys. You can really hear the Junior Boys influence in their tunes. Sometimes the most inspired shit can come out of the most uninspiring places; ie. hamilton with junior boys or in this case denton, texas.

Get 'em while they're hot! These guys are going places, I can assure you that. I know Alan [Plug:]and you can see him Wednesdays at Hailey's club in Denton with his side project DJ duo It's What We Get.

Btw. Props to Pop Nick for helping us out in the studio on Someone Else's Ride.

denton isn't uninspiring, prick.

yeah, try living somewhere like longview, tx. VOMIT.

denton is a paradise in comparison.

those kids make it more than bearable.
