in my quest to bring you more disco-influenced music, here is one of my absolutely favorite tracks right now: 'joystick' by discodeine, dropping mid of june on dirty. discodeine are pentile and pilooski who is famous for his marvellous edits that have consistently shown up on all blogs that matter throughout the last years.

and for a change i am really having a hard time describing what 'joystick' sounds like, think retro, think sci-fi, think vintage, think future. you'll hear bleeps, vocals, hard hitting drums, mellow swing, lovely strings, distortion, filter sweeps, noise, everything. that might sound confusing and maybe it is, but in the best of all possible ways. this will have a special place in my heart and goes straight to the top of my 'best of' list for this year. go listen now, in full 320 kbps:

the twelve-inch release on dirty has another track by discodeine named 'homo-compatible' and a 'joystick' remix by tomboy but seriously i haven't even listened to them yet as i am so in love with the 'joystick' original.
