guns n bombs.
i don't know if you remember a time not so long ago when a mixtape was a rare thing on music blogs. there were a few mixtapes that i would always download; one was miam les fruits put together by pharrell from the fluokids and the other was the mixtape series by guns n bombs. there were always new, unreleased tracks and old gems. they accompanied me on many a drive to and from work and helped me finish my homework.
it's time for the fourth installment from guns n bombs that was recorded live at the apollo theater. you can expect nothing less than wobbly bass, big names and unreleased tracks. great job guys. you're gonna have people scouring hype machine and bittorrents for weeks.

it is a great tracklist.
any mix with spastik i'm down for
"you're gonna have people scouring hype machine and bittorrents for weeks." serious? if you know how to use the web, you´ll have all the tracks for weeks now... and yes, a great tracklist!
anonymous: cool, if you've got them all, send over a good version of 'baggy bottom boys' please. my mail: discodust69@googlemail.com - thanks in advance!
hm. nothing in yet :(.
the acid rave bit in the armand track should be the whole song. dope mix
I love you Aleks! The last couple weeks you have been on fire. I read 30 blogs a day and yours has become my favorite.
http://cocomilkwodka.blogspot.com/
once again: bottom boys is featured on like 6 other current mixes, some songs on this mix are in "blogtime" reeeaaally oldschool and if you want to represent the oldschool why does EVERYONE choose "vamp" as THE track to be on a mix? fly or bounce, je táime, homecoming, exodus, niggaz fighting... blabla thats like the dollarbinjams of the internet!
don´t get me wrong: I love your blog and I love gnbs music! BUT: last time when you wrote something positive about the mix of the playgroundkidz, you was something like: every other mix sounds the same, can´t people go out and find some amazing, interesting, obscure, new or whatever music that was not featured on every blog the last 3 months... and exactly that was the feeling i got when i heard the new gnb mix. i was simply disappointed. but when you or your friend, dunno, wrote something like "you're gonna have people scouring hype machine and bittorrents for weeks.", it just felt like a bad joke. so sorry for that and for my critics! will never do it again...
yeah, now send me that track already.
(getting your point though.)
Exclusive remix of Sam Sparo by Dj Mehdi

electric boyz: maybe you didn't notice yet but this is a blog and not a public ad space.
and in case you missed that as well: sam sparro's promotion agency hates to see blogs write about him, they don't want him to become famous.
send elektrik boyz a bill for advertising?
I am seeing Sam Sparro tonight. Should be rad though his youtube clips make it seem like he isn't too charismatic behind the mike...

therocktechnocrossover: i was about to delete that but you did a great job at combining both arguments of the earlier discussions: spam and boring tracklists.
i got it up on mine..i like it also!
i wish more people were like anonymous, really, because all the complaints i get when i play out is that i play tracks that the crowd doesnt know and the only people that feel it are the other djs that im playing with. not enough djs now care about looking into old tracks or finding new ones, most of the kids i hear it sounds like they got a macbook pro, downloaded serato, and got the boys noize record, the justice record, and the licky remix by herve. who knows, maybe im playing the wrong places because when i played this set and similiar ones in europe and in north america, the majority of people had no idea what any of the tracks were, infact, just last week a promoter in LA told me that i play too "deep" and that i should play "the hits" so the kids can "get into it". i wanna play where anonymous lives.
johnny: i'd love to hear those tunes out loud. and i am sure that set would go down well at one of our parties over here (hint!).
kids need to be more open minded.
fun though. too old for the blogs, too fresh for the floor, eh. i didn't feel like we are THAT out of touch with the real world.
Great posting guys! Love it...
You inspire new music blogs like mine...

All the best,

20% of the kids know all the new stuff out there.
the others jsut want the usual bangers.
sham ppl dont want to dance to a dj set but more to "known" tunes.
how do you know if people have heard the songs you DJ before? do you pass around comment cards at the end of your set? hehe.
why dont u freshen up your sets and mix some johnny love into your sets?
http://www.johnnylovemusic.com/
everybody takes themself so seriously, yunno? ; c )
ouch. hard hit! :)
hate to be that guy, but the passions 'get hype' track is math head's. right?
good mix btw. johnny is always on point. how about him doing some shows in chicago? or has he forgotten about our little old second city...?
nicko: yeah right but oh well, same guy.
I HEARD JOHNNY L<3VE GOT ALL THESE TRACKS FROM A HAND DELIVERY COURIER WHILE THE CD's WERE STILL WARM FROM HAVING RECENTLY BEEN BURNED FROM THE PRODUCER'S VERY OWN MACBOOK AIR EXTERNAL SUPERDRIVE. LEAVE HIM ALONE, HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE AN INTERNETS. IF YOU GUYS DON'T STOP HATING HE MIGHT JUST GIVE UP ALTOGETHER, AND THEN WHERE WOULD WE BE? I THINK MISS TOATS IS PART OF A CONSPIRACY TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK THAT JOHNNY'S LOSING IT. I HEARD THIS MIX WAS FINISHED 7 YEARS AGO. JUS SAYIN.
Most of you are acting like wankers. Props to GNB for always being on point (and a flawless set before Digitalism in SF in April) and for Aleks and his sweet ol' blog. I hate the culture of blogs but I dig the music you highlight Aleks. There are many good songs out there. You can mix mid 90s trip hop into an electro set and it can work. Be creative. Dont be a wanker. Peace.
