ellie goulding + russ chimes.

sometimes combinations happen that seem like they are straight out of my daydreams. and that's exactly the case for this new ellie goulding remix by russ chimes, for the wonderful 'starry eyed'. he applies his trademark sound and adds some really big uplifting piano chords this time, definitely making this one of the biggest tracks given to blogs this year. enjoy another masterpiece as a premiere on discodust!

Congratulations on taking a brilliant song and fucking it up. Worst introduction ever, the beat is terrible, the remixing is rank and the generic Ibiza-style piano chords are misplaced.

0/10

You people need to get some taste

P.S. Here is how an Ellie remix should be done.

When will everyone learn that you can't just take a hit single and stick a shit drum machine on loop over it.

Sam, I disagree - I think Chimes' piano build was gorgeous and the synth variations were perfect. Gave the track great momentum. I will agree that Baby Monster's "Under the Sheets" remix was fantastic. Would love to hear from them this year!

i will say, this remix isn't as poignant or striking as most russ chimes tracks. it is however, vastly superior to his past efforts as far as production is concerned. the sounds are much fuller and don't seem as crammed together. still complex & layered as ever, there's just a nice amount of breathing room between the sounds this time. this year is gonna be big for this dude. hopefully he and his Valerie crew will head back to Chicago and show Smartbar some synth love.

Woah how average for 98. Jacque Lu Conte would be disappointed.

god this is a joke right? this remix is crap - (also to sam - it doesnt matter if anything is misplaced if the song is actually awful) please can you start putting good music again on this blog like we used to 2 years ago!

@ sam: ok, make a better one!

rate it '0' when you can outproduce it yourself, fucktard.

very different feel than the original. "generic Ibiza-style piano chords" and "shit drum beat"
...haha yeah ok.

Baby Monster remix was tight, doesn't make this bad though. keep it up, Mr. Chimes

best chimes remix since teenage colour

I agree with a few of the above posters that this isn't nearly as inspired as some of Russ Chimes' other stuff. It doesn't sparkle and shimmer like his best work. By the numbers. Still, hopefully he's gettin' paid major label cash.

The near-binary polarisation of opinion on this blog post suggests a viral PR machine at work.

I'm partial to the Jakwob remix myself, but this remix from Chimes is super nice indeed. Ken_UF
