chiddy bang + the rap pack.
we are hardly ever featuring rap on discodust which is a bit odd as i listen to a lot of it lately and it's probably the genre with the most exciting productions and well-crafted actual 'songs' around these days - the mere existence of so bones, the newly established hip hop flavoured offshoot by 20 jazz funk greats, should be proof enough that it's about time to keep your ear to the streets, they never seemed so busy.
following fellow grindin tastemakers passion of the weiss and neon gold, i came across chiddy bang and super-group the rap pack, both from philadelphia, rolling their own versions of 'kids' by mgmt and 'do it' by joker (pictured above), proving that raps based on electronic club bangers are a deadly combination.
chiddy bang - kids
joker - do it (the rap pack remix)
expect more along these lines on here in the future. period.

lol, what does this even mean? i listen to a ton of hip-hop and this statement still doesn't make sense. are you implying that your traditional posted tracks aren't songs
no.
id actually say a good rap song is a rarity, and they really only stand out when a ton of effort has been put into the production
that being said - i love what they did with kids and would probably be all over an instrumental
akon's production destroys any track on this blog. just sayin
that´s right!
the instrumentals may rock sometimes, but when the guys wear RayBans and try to sound like Kanye, just skip!
pass.
Thanks for posting good hip hop. Loving both groups, and ever so excited that they are repping my city.
If you want "good" rap / hip hop you must rewind the clock and look for indie stuff from nyc & canada from the mid-nineties. This is devolved shit!

hope you enjoy being stuck in the past.
Joker is more eclectic than hiphop, he does Dubstep/Grime and other forms of electronica..

And besides, there are waaaaaaaaay better Hip-hop than these tracks especially electronic affiliated artists like: Theophilus London, Micky Factz, Flu (Blu & Flying Lotus), Kid Cudi, 88-Keys, The Knux, Wale, P.O.S, Dangermouse, Asher Roth (THere are some really good tracks on his album) etc. . . But cool post nonetheless

And surely the best hip-hop electro by a running mile are the Ratatat remixes.
